ATLANTAAAAAA.!!!!!!!!!
Despite the rain, I had the BEST weekend in Atlanta! Last weekend The Student Activities Board of North Carolina Central University organized a trip for the students to go and support the Marching Sound Machine at the Honda Battle Of The Bands which took place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta,Ga. We drove 6hrs to Atlanta and sold out the Holiday Inn. We spent the nights at the club, at the pre-dawns of other schools, and some people hung out in their rooms!
With S.A.B, there is NEVER a dull moment. I made them my first family when I came here to NCCU and I have always had fun.
I spent my nights with some family, and then in my room playing spades, palace and kemp with a bunch of people and some loud music. I don't like going out in the rain, I feel it takes away from my outfit lol.
The band did exceptionally well in the showcase. The other bands (Southern U,FAMU,Virginia State,Clark Atlanta,Albany State,Tuskegee and Prarie View A&M) were good as well. It wasn't a competition, but I believe if it were, we would have placed a good 2nd.
P.S...LUDACRIS WAS THERE.!!!!
Just like Hampton, What happens in ATLANTA STAYS IN ATLANTA.!!

Spring Semester.!!
So just like LIFE, I have learned alot about myself.
Grew away from some people, and grew closer to other. Its all about self improvement for me. After this first semester, I definitely learned independence and how to basically do for myself/keep myself happy regardless.
Christmas break was GREAT, the best ever.! But I was ready to come back to NC and see my friends. My classes this semester aren't bad, and I think I will be able to maintain my 3.0 gpa.
Because of my hard work, I was invited to take part in a ceremony that will recognize my hard work which resulted in my 3.0gps first semester of college. I feel soo honored to be recognized for that.
I wasn't in the club every weekend, and i associated myself with people alike. I did go to the club like twice maybe 3 times. Im the biggest procrastinator you will meet, but I got everything done.
This semester has started off great.! I'm still involved with all of my organizations- they keep me occupied, and I just enjoy the company of my friends.

Time flies...when you're having fun.
OMG.!
I can't believe how fast this semester has gone.!!!!!!!!!
I will be back in paradise in 10 days.! It seems sooo unreal.
In a nut shell, this first semester has been great. I met new people, learned new things, got involved and just enjoyed the college life as a whole.
The classes weren't as hard as I thought they was going to be..and despite what you've heard about the workload -- there is alot of free time to get everything done.
I think I've adjusted to the college life the best way possible and I'm really looking forward to continuing my years here.!
This blog will be short. But if you have any questions feel free to email me: cfox6@eagles.nccu.edu I will be more than happy to answer any questions you have, or even if you just want to talk and know more about NCCU. Don't hesitate.
I look forward to hearing from you.!!

Getting Involved- && Lovin' it.!
I love NCCU.
And I made it an appoint to get involved in as many things THAT INTEREST ME as possible.!!
So far I am involved in SAB (Student Activities Board), NCCU Book Club (So far, we have read "Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man" by Steve Harvey and "Letters To A Young Sister" by Hill Harper), Team Eagle (Student Ambassadors) and also Screaming Eagles (Kinda self explanatory lol)
I think it's important to get involved because that way you won't be bored or stuck in your room. I've met some people who know nothing about what is being done on campus, nor do they know where to go to get involved for organizations. This could be prevented if they got involved with some of the stuff on campus and got to know about the different activities held here.
Recently I was recruited to join Team Eagle. I am now a student ambassador and my job is to make YOU want to come to North Carolina Central University. I also do campus tours.
My first tour was last week when I took a family around to see the campus. Jasmine was so enthusiastic about coming to NCCU, it made me feel alot better about myself. I am definitely more confident in giving a tour alone now and more importantly, she REALLY WANTS to come to NCCU (and I helped her make that decision)-plus she reads my blogs lol! (Jasmine you are amazing, thank you!)
It is also very interesting to see all the hard work that goes behind putting on events for school. The executive board of SAB are like super-students. They really do it all.
So as you can see I try to keep myself busy, to prevent boredom and possibly trouble lol.
I intend to join more organizations but at the moment I think I'm managing my time well between academics and social life/organizations, so I'll wait until next year.!
Getting involved INCREASES school Pride.!
& I have the EAGLE.PRIDE -AMPLIFIED.

FALL BREAK.!!
Our New Score Board.!

NO CLASS TOMORROW.!!!!!
It kinda sucked that I was here at school whilst it seemed like EVERYBODY on campus left and went home for the weekend. I think there are 20people in total in Baynes this weekend, NO EXAGGERATION.
As an international student, I won't be going home until Christmas! I don't mind though. My room mate has been home every weekend since she got here.I'm not complaining though, I love having the room to myself lol. I just don't see the point. Most people were excited to get away from home, yet they go back home every weekend. I honestly believe that I appreciate my school a lot more because I am not able to go home. My school spirit is really high too, compared to my other friends; typically the ones who go home nearly every weekend.
....True, there is nothing to do on campus, but I've met new people this weekend, and enjoyed the excellent internet connection and loud music until I feel like turning it off.!! =)
*Sidenote: This saturday NCCU won their FIRST football game of the season against Central Methodist University. We won 52-7. It was soo good to be there after we won, but a lot of people couldn't enjoy that because they went home.
ANYWAYS, I LOVE NCCU.!!!

FRESHMAN 15..........[Is Real]
Hey!!
I'm pretty sure I was expected to talk about the infamous Aggie.Eagle Classic, but I'm not. If you don't already know, I am THAT Eage, not just any Eagle and I stand out from the rest.
Before I started college my friends kept talking about this "freshman 15". I had no clue as to what it was referring to, and I definitely wasn't expecting it to be describing the amount of POUNDS freshmen are expected to gain. Now, I entitled this post "FRESHMAN 15..........[Is Real]", so that I can explain HOW I AM REALIZING that it is real. I AM NOT...I repeat...I AM NOT implying that I am 15+ pounds heavier lol.
The food here at NCCU is NOT BAD AT ALL (IT'S NOT YOUR MOTHER'S COOKING EITHER), but I had visualized sloppy food like how you see in movies, and the cafeteria lady just "plops" it on your tray; it is the FURTHEST thing from that here at NCCU.
There are five stations in the caf here at NCCU: one is for pizza and pastas, one for burgers and fries, one for salads and sandwiches, one for international cuisines (usually tacos, or stir frys or something along those lines) and then the last one is for main meals (a meat, a starch and a vegetable usually). There is a variety of selections but it does get boring, especially if you have a craving for another type of food.
I have recently fell in love with COOKOUT =).! If I can find a way to Cookout, forget the caf.
(I blame Bermuda for not having these types of places.)
Ok so on the flip side, the caf offers nutritional facts about the food they are serving such as: what it is made of, how many calories it has and how many servings it is. Also there is a nutritionist available FOR FREE and the exercise room is available FOR FREE.
So to wrap it up, FRESHMAN 15 IS REAL...and it is also PREVENTABLE. NCCU has GREAT resources available FOR FREE to help you NOT gain that 15 pounds.
Before I head out I want to thank Mr.Antonio Locus and Mr. Antoine Martin for my transportation to and from cookout! =)

Making Honest Decisions for Yourself
Heyy,
I have been so busy with tests and stuff I couldn't work in the time to blog. So here I am at 2:30am blogging. If you read my other blogs you would see that I definitely have a class at 8am tomorrow...well,today. I should be fine; I slept most of the day today.
The first few weeks of college I thought that college was pretty much like overnight high school. Go to class like you are supposed to, do your homework, study when you have a test..etc. But it's a lot more than that. You need to constantly be looking over notes to make sure you stay on top of your work. It's not hard once you get in the habit of doing things, but getting yourself into a routine may be a bit difficult.
The first place to start is with your friends. College campus is SOO diverse; there are so many different people from different backgrounds. Unlike in high school when you hung out with people who had the same interests as you, in college, you need to find friends who have the best discipline and the best study habits. These people will be the ones to motivate you when you are down to the wire and need to get that assignment done.
The next thing would be actually staying focused. Going to college is the most exciting thing because of the parties, the boys, the whole thought of being away from home, but you have to remember that there is work to be done.
There is only so much I can tell you, as you live out the college life you really learn something new every day. Whether it's academically, socially or even individually; you can really notice growth within yourself.
-So, that is the one and only blog I will write where I play Dr. Phil lol =)
